The name La Llorona comes from a Mexican folklore that is often used in New Mexico to get kids to come home by sunset. La Llorona is known to be a ghost who roams waterfront areas mourning her drowned children. In New Mexico parents often say "be home by sunset or La Llorona will get you!"
